Abstract
This article discusses the distribution of two recent Corbicula species: Corbicula flumine (Müller, 1744) and Corbicula fluminalis (Müller, 1774) in Belgium and the Netherlands. Also included is a short discussion concerning the exact names of the species. A short history and information about the distribution of both species in Europe is also given as far as currently known to the author. The conclusion can be drawn that these species take their places in the Dutch freshwater biotope and later in time in the Belgium freshwater areas. But further research to the distribution of both species in Europe is absolutely necessary to have more information about the exact distribution of these exotic species.
