Abstract
    In the absence of specific national intercalibration programs, in 2019 and 2020, the Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale (ISPRA) organized the first national interlaboratory comparison (CI) for the Regional Agencies for Environmental Protection (ARPA). The goal was to increase the robustness of data and scientific methods by providing a contribution to improve the quality of data produced in the context of environmental monitoring. This activity is aimed at assessing the ecological status of Italian coastal marine waters in accordance with the EU Marine Directives.
