Abstract
    The author picked up a live specimen of Gibbomodiola adriatica (dim. 45mm x 20mm) at the beach in Ostend. The species has never been reported before from Belgium. It is known from Norway and the Baltic to the Mediterranean basin and the Canaries, including the Channel. Along the continental coast of the southern North Sea it is rare: in the Netherlands juveniles are mentioned on drift material (De Bryune, 2004).
