Abstract
    A parasite-host list is given of Monogenea recorded from marine and freshwater fish in Australia and their distribution in relation to the zoogeographical regions of Australia is discussed. The Australian monogenoid fauna cannot be said to be particularly distinct from any other. The Solanderian representatives have most affinity with those found in the Indo-Australasian zoogeographical area and this is almost certainly a result of the sepcificity developed between the parasites and their hosts which are themselves related to fish of the Indo-Australasian area. The Flindersian and Peronian representatives show no special affinity to the Indo-Australasian monogenoid fauna and appear most closely related to that of temperate forms presumably because of their related fish hosts.
