| Abstract |
The objective of the present study is to report two new species of minute marine gastropods from the Turkish coast, based on a survey conducted along the northern Aegean coast of Türkiye between 25 and 28 July 2016. Zoobenthic material was sampled from three stations at depths of 5 and 10 m from Posidonia oceanica meadows using a 20 × 20 cm quadrate sampler by SCUBA diving. The faunistic evaluation of the sampled material resulted in the identification of Eatonina fulgida (Adams 1797) and Rissoella opalina (Jeffreys 1848), which are reported here for the first time from the Turkish coasts. The present study provides information on the distinguishing, ecological and distributional characteristics of the considered two species. |
