| Abstract |
The reticular parietal plexus first found by Marcus (1926) in a Stoloniferine Ctenostome, has been vitally stained again by methylene blue in a Vesicularine sp, B. gracilis. The plexus exists in the wall of the tubular autozooids, active or with brown bodies, and also in the stolon; it is remarkable by the elongation of its meshes and the extension of bipolar cells; the relation between the zooid shape and the plexus distribution allows a 1st comparison with Hiller's network in the Cheilostomes partitions. Continuity between the reticles of the stolons and the lodgets through their basal septae is not yet demonstrated, but the presence of the nervous network in the stolon supports the colonial coordination hypothesis. |
