BELANGRIJKE MEDEDELING
Omwille van het overdonderd succes bij de inschrijvingen, hebben we last-minute de lokatie van deze Jongerenconatactdag 2011 moeten wijzigen. Je wordt dus niet verwacht in het provinciehuis Boeverbos, maar op de site Oude Sint-Jan in Brugge:

Site Oud Sint-Jan ligt op 5 minuten wandelen van het treinstation van Brugge. Verlaat het station aan de voorkant (richting Brugge) en wandel over het stationsplein. Volg vervolgens de bewegwijzeringspijlen ‘Site Oud Sint-Jan’ door de Oostmeers en de Zonnekemeers. [wegbeschrijving]
Met de auto: Neem afrit 8 (Brugge, Sint-Michiels) op de E40 Brussel-Oostende. Volg de wegbewijzering naar het NMBS station Brugge (je passeert 2 ronde punten). Na de lichten rij je onder een treintunnel. Bij het eerstvolgende rond punt, ga je naar rechts en dan onmiddellijk naar links. Daar volg je de pijlen ‘Site Oud Sint-Jan’ door de Oostmeers en de Zonnekemeers. Ter plekke is er een kleine parking beschikbaar (6.00 EUR/dag). Een betere optie is de auto achter te laten op de parking aan het station van Brugge (2.50 EUR/dag). Hou bij het binnenrijden in Brugge rekening met file tijdens de piekuren.
Programma
Deze editie van de Jongerencontactdag belooft er een te worden met een grote dynamiek en interactiviteit: 20 pitch presentaties, een posterwedstrijd met 70 posters, een ‘babbelbox’, afspraak in het salon met Dr Waddah Saab (coördinator van de EU Strategy for marine and maritime research), presentaties van de winnaars van de VLIZ awards en veel gelegenheden om ideeën uit wisselen met je mariene collega's.
Laat u niet misleiden door de naam Jongerencontactdag. Hoewel we voornamelijk ‘jonge’ (pre-doctoraat) onderzoekers een forum willen bieden, kunnen het programma en de ontmoetingsmomenten zeker ook senior scientists boeien.

Via een directe interactie met Dr Waddah Saab (European Commission - DG RTD) zal het mogelijk zijn om na zijn introducerende presentatie al je ideeën en vragen te luchten in een pittige discussie. Hij verwacht je in het salon!
BABBELBOX
Bezoekers van de Jongerencontactdag 2011 worden uitgedaagd om een boodschap over hun eigen onderzoek in te spreken in de ‘babbelbox’. Vertel in een paar minuten hoe of waarom je voor de mariene wetenschappen gekozen hebt, of waarom je onderzoek ons allen aanbelangt. Je kan ook een voorwerp meebrengen of een pittige anecdote vertellen om het onderwerp van je eigen onderzoek aan te brengen. De opname in de babbelbox zal ons helpen om marien en kustonderzoek bij een breder publiek kenbaar te maken!
