| Abstract |
In the southern part of the German Bay grain-size, primary sedimentary structures, and fauna and ecology of coastal sands of two different regions — Nordergründe and Outer Jade — are investigated. Some striking relationships are found in the distribution of grain-size, sedimentary structures and animal populations in correspondence with hydrodynamic factors. Wave-base at water depth of 5-6 m and 20 m depth-line demarcate different areas. Each of these areas is characterized by certain types of sediments, sedimentary structures, and fauna. |
