Abstract
Immunocytochemistry shows that insulin-containing cells are densely innervated by galanin-positive nerve fibres in the Brockmann body of two teleost, the atlantic cod Gadus morhua and the rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss. The insulin-like cells are also innervated by a few nerve fibresthat contain PACAP-like peptide and occasional fibres that contain VIP-like peptide. The glucagon-like cells are only partly innervatedby fibres positive to galanin-, VIP-and PACAP-like peptides.
