Abstract
    A new Engina has been collected from the stomach of fish caught offshore Richards Bay. No similar species have been recorded from southern Africa nor the southwestern Indian Ocean. The species is here described as Engina ignicula sp. nov., the generic placement based on the morphology of the apertural denticles.
